Description

Kent:. Plan of the battery at Folkestone showing the Ordnance boundary in yellow. Buildings, gardens, the magazine, roads, dimensions and cliffs are also shown. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. Compass indicator. Initialled 'W.B.T'. Signed by Captain Alexander Gordon, Royal Engineers, 13 July 1848 and by W J Kelly. Originally accompanying a return of land property dated 31 August 1848 by Lieutenant Colonel William Burton Tylden, Royal Engineers, Dover, to the Inspector General of Fortifications.
