Kent. Plan showing the location of Twiss Battery and towers 10 and 11 at Hythe. The boundary to Ordnance property, buildings, roads, beach land and the high water mark are also shown. Reference tables. Scale: 1 inch to 80 feet. Compass indicator. Initialled 'W.B.T'. Signed by R Howe CW, RE's Office Hythe 16 August 1848 and by Captain Alexander Gordon, Royal Engineers, 18 August 1848. Originally accompanying a return of land property dated 31 August 1848 by Lieutenant Colonel William Burton Tylden, Royal Engineers, Dover to the Inspector General of Fortifications.
