Kent. Plan of the 'great redoubt' at Dungeness. Boundaries and dimensions of Ordnance property, buildings, beach land, a moat and a path are also shown. Reference table and key. Scale: 1 inch to 100 feet. Compass indicator. Initialled 'W.B.T'. Signed by J Studd, Royal Engineers' Office, Hythe, and by Captain Alexander Gordon, Royal Engineers, 18 July 1848. Originally accompanying a return of land property dated 31 August 1848 by Lieutenant Col onel William Burton Tylden, Royal Engineers, Dover to the Inspector General of Fortifications.
