Buildings, Ordnance properties, high water marks, beach land and Pett Level are also shown. Reference tables. Scales: 1 inch to 50 feet. Compass indicators. Initialled 'W.B.T' and signed by Captain Alexander Gordon, Royal Engineers, (116) 11 July 1848, (117) 19 July 1848 and (118-120) 10 July 1848. (117) also signed by John Studd, Royal Engineers' office, Hythe, 19 July 1848. (116) and (118-120) also signed by W J Kelly. Originally accompanying a return of land property dated 31 August 1848 by Lieutenant Colonel William Burton Tylden, Royal Engineers, Dover to the Inspector General of Fortifications. Sheet sizes between 32.5 cm x 43 cm and 31.5 cm x 75 cm.
