Kent. Plan showing towers 26 and 27 at St Mary's Bay. Roads, the high water mark and the new sea wall are also shown. Reference notes to land areas. Scale: 1 inch to 80 feet. Compass indicator. Signed by John Studd, Royal Engineers' office, Hythe, 1 August 1848 and by Lieutenant Colonel W B Tylden, Royal Engineers, 1 August 1848. Originally accompanying a return of land property dated 31 August 1848 by Lieutenant Colonel William Burton Tylden, Royal Engineers, Dover to the Inspector General of Fortifications.
