Kent. Plans showing (101) No 2 Battery and (102) No 1 Battery at Deal. Walls, grounds and (on 102) the area washed away by the sea are also shown.. Reference tables. Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. Compass indicators. Initialled 'W.B.T' and signed by Lieutenant Fitzroy [Molyneux Henry] Somerset, Royal Engineers 6 July 1848. Originally accompanying a return of land property dated 31 August 1848 by Lieutenant Colonel William Burton Tylden, Royal Engineers, Dover to the Inspector General of Fortifications.
