Kent. Plan showing Ordnance property at Shorne Mead, Gravesend. Boundaries, streams, the sea wall, the River Thames and a gun battery are also shown. Reference note to sizes of land. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. Compass indicator. Signed by Captain Arthur Henry Freeling, Royal Engineers, 20 July 1848 and by Lieutenant Colonel William Henry Slade, Royal Engineers, 27 July 1848. Originally accompanying a report dated 27 July 1848 from Slade to the Inspector General of Fortifications. Annotated 'To accompany Return dated 20th July 1848'.
