Kent. Plan showing Ordnance property in Gillingham and Chatham. Boundaries, barracks, a church and other buildings, the magazine, the burial ground, wharves, a fort and Gillingham Creek are also shown. Reference notes to colouring and sizes of land. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. Compass indicator. Signed by Lieutenant Colonel William Henry Slade, Royal Engineers, 28 July 1848. Originally accompanying a report dated 3 May 1849 by R Byham, 84 Pall Mall, London, to the Inspector General of Fortifications. Annotated 'To accompany the Returns called for by the Master General's and Board's Order dated 12th June 1848'.
