Kent: 'Plan No 7' of Ordnance ground at Dymchurch, showing towers 22 and 23. Roads, a sewer, a boat-house and the sea front are also shown. Reference note to land size. Scale: 1 inch to 80 feet. Compass indicator. Initialled 'W.B.J.'. Signed by Captain Alexander Gordon, Royal Engineers, 19 July 1848 and by R Howe, CW. Stamped 'Royal Engineers Office Hythe 19th July 1840'. Originally accompanying a report dated 3 May 1849 by R Byham, 84 Pall Mall, London, to the Inspector General of Fortifications.
