Kent. Three plans on a single sheet of towers 1, 2 and 3 at Dover showing in yellow the Ordnance boundary. Positions of the towers, slopes and the size of properties is also shown. Scale: 1 inch to 80 feet. Compass indicator. Initialled by 'W.B.J.'. Signed by Captain Alexander Gordon, Royal Engineers, 10 July 1848. A note, signed by R Howe, CW, reads 'Royal Engineers Office Hythe, 10th July 1848'. Originally accompanying a report dated 3 May 1849 by R Byham, 84 Pall Mall, London, to the Inspector General of Fortifications.
