Hampshire. Plan of Alverstoke, drawn 'in reference to the circular dated 20th June 1848', showing in yellow the ground 'referred to in Col Lewis's return of Ordnance property, not likely to be required'. Roads, buildings, fields, streams, Stoke Lake, Stoke Bay Common and Fort Moncton are also shown. Reference note on colouring. Scale: 1 inch to 400 feet. Compass indicator. A note, signed by George H Lancaster 17 April 1849, reads 'Traced from the map of Alverstoke'. Signed by Colonel G G Lewis. Originally accompanying a report dated 3 May 1849 by R Byham, 84 Pall Mall, London, to the Inspector General of Fortifications.
