Jersey. Plan and sections of South Hill showing that part already excavated and rocky ground proposed to be cut away. A plan of a portion of the ditch from the angle of the south redoubt and extending 237' to the northward is also included. Scales: main plan 1 inch to 100 feet; sections 1 inch to 10 feet; small plan 1 inch to 20 feet. Compass indicator. Signed by Colonel M C Dixon, Commanding Royal Engineer, and originally accompanying his dispatch dated 22 May 1847 to the Inspector General of Fortifications.
