Compass indicator. Signed: H Roberts, Clerk of Works, 20 July 1848; Captain C Wilkinson, Commanding Royal Engineer, 21 July 1848; and Colonel H Vavasour, Commanding Royal Engineer. Originally enclosed in a report by Vavasour, 31 July 1848.
