Description

British Kaffraria (now part of Eastern Cape province, South Africa): Keiskammahoek. 'Plan & section of a Tower proposed to be erected on the Keiskamma and Tamacha... for the protection of the Camp': showing the upper and lower floors and the top of the tower. Scale: 1 inch to 5 feet. Copied by Sergeant H King, Royal Sappers and Miners, 17 May 1852. Signed: Captain C D Robertson, Royal Engineers, 17 May 1852; W E Stace, Royal Engineers, 22 May 1852; and Lieutenant Colonel P Cole, Royal Engineers, 27 May 1852.
