'Sketch map of Turkish [Ottoman] Empire': covering the area between Belgrade (Beograd, now in Serbia), in the north-west, and Bandar Abbas (now in Iran), in the south-east, showing railways, desert routes, and boundaries; cut from a larger sheet. Coloured MS additions show proposed cordons between Samsun and Mersina (now Icel or Mersin), and between Trebizond (Trabzon) and Baghdad (now in Iraq). Signed: Lieutenant Colonel F R Maunsell, 1 July 1919. Scale bar affixed to the face of the map. Originally illustrating a memorandum on the proposed cordon system.
