Description

Russian Empire: Crimea (now part of Ukraine): Sebastopol (Sevastopol). 'Sketch, Taken from O in the plan, on the left bank of the Ravine, leading to the Sandbag Battery': panoramic view, sketched in ink and watercolour. Signed: Lieutenant E G Hallewell, 'to illustrate part of the Survey by Officers of the Q.M.G.'s [Quarter Mastrer General's] Dept'. The plan and survey have not been identified among the holdings of The National Archives.
