Russian Empire: Crimea (now part of Ukraine): Sebastopol. 'Sevastopol, shewing the French and English Attacks': two copies of a plan showing the dockyard creek, harbour, defences and buildings. Reference table to the positions of British, French and Russian forces. Scale: 1 inch to about 846.2 feet. Compass indicator. Both items drawn by Lieutenant C G Gordon, Royal Engineers; item (29) dated 27 July 1855; both items signed: Major General Harry D Jones, Commanding Royal Engineer, 28 July 1855. A note states: 'This Plan has been compiled from various sources and Observations and is as correct as it can be without actual Survey'.
