Description

This series contains correspondence, reports, papers and accounts of Lottery Managers and of the Lottery Office, together with lottery tickets, lists of the holders of fortunate tickets, certificates and orders for payment of prizes, bonds and affidavits concerning lost tickets and papers on assessment for property tax of officers of the Lottery Office.

Also included in the series are engraved copper plates used for printing forms etc, and a bag of wooden balls used for drawing a private lottery. There are also a few records of the Board of Stamps (Board of Stamps and Taxes from June 1833) arising out of residual work taken over from the lottery office following its abolition in 1831.
