Description

Religious instruction; reports he is persuaded that nine tenths of apprentices are Roman Catholics; reference to Mr O'Hannan, the Roman Catholic priest, who had his licence taken away and was expelled from the island, dispute over posession of Roman Catholic endowed chapel; states that he 'dreaded his [O'Hannan's] mischevious Influence among his flock on the Emancipation Day, 1st August 1834' and refers to the influence of Roman Catholicism among the 'lower orders of People in all Countries subject to its Establishment in Grenada'; reports change in actions of O'Hannan; enclosed memorial for aid to chapels and schools and other related enclosures.
