Description

Captured ship: L'Acacia otherwise Lacassiat of Calais (master Antoine Portier).

History: a French privateer (5 tons, 1 gun, 20 men), taken on 15/26 November 1745 two leagues west of Dungeness by the privateer Carlisle (William Owen commanding) and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 1- CP 4]: standing interrogatories, two examinations, commissioner's affidavit;
  • [CP 5]: allegation;
  • [CP 6-CP 7]: attestation and translation of ship's papers.

Ship's papers:

  • SP 1: privateer's commission;
  • SP 2: muster roll.
