Nature of request
William Forster states that the Pope presented him to the archdeaconry of Winchester, and that he has sued for a long time against John Bloxham, who wrongly claimed to have been presented to it by the Bishop of Winchester. William has had three definitive sentences in his favour, but John, to counter this, has through false suggestions acquired a presentation from the King. William asks the King and council to have John come before them to show the true title of the King to present to the archdeaconry, and if it seems to them in good faith and conscience to be null or unreasonable, then he asks that he might enjoy his benefice in peace.
