Nature of request
The Abbot of St Augustine's, Canterbury, makes three requests:1) He requests the King's charter of pardon for one of his monks, Peter de Dene, in an appeal of felony wrongly brought against him by Thomas de Fyndone.2) He requests the King's charter of pardon for himself, Nicholas Daugh, one of his monks, Thomas Everard and John Petyt the younger, for a suit brought against them by the King for their alleged rescue of Peter [from custody].3) He requests the King's letters patent that, although he has granted a livery to Maud de Wylmyngton for term of her life, he will not be charged with receiving another in her place after her death.
