Mary de Bavent states that she in the King's second year she received a messuage in the parish of St Peter, Cornhill in London, from Roger de Leukenore, in mortgage upon certain terms, and recounts various wrongs done to her by him in this matter, especially in connection with a dispute about whether or not he had fully paid the sum for which the messuage was mortgaged, with the result that she was imprisoned in Newgate because of his false allegations. She requests a remedy.
