Nature of request
Catherine and Joan, daughters and executrices of the testament of Thomas de Bekeryng, state that before the feast of John the Baptist the King ordered the Sheriff of Lincolnshire to take into his hand the manor of Beckering and the Sheriff of Huntingdonshire to take into his hand the manor of Catworth, and to answer for the issues until they had other orders from him. Catherine and Joan have a reasonable action to have the goods and chattels found in these manors, to execute their father's testament, and ask that they might have letters to the Sheriffs to allow them to have this year's hay and corn in these manors, and to use them and all other goods and chattels there to their profit, on sufficient security to answer to the King for any debt owed to him by them or their father.
