King and council.
Nature of request
Richard Lescrop states that he is brother and heir to William Lescrop, whose lands and tenements were seized into the King's hand after his death, and inquisitions were held to find out if he held anything of the King in chief. The third inquisition in Hertfordshire found that he did, but Richard claims that he held in demesne and not by knight service, and he has the charter of the King's father to prove it. He asks the King to order the Chancellor to inquire again, and that, depending on what is found there may be done unto him according to the common law and reason.
