Nature of request
The burgesses of Hedon in Holderness state that the King has granted them all manner of franchises and customs in general terms as the burgesses of York and Lincoln enjoy by their charters; but because these franchises are not specified, the profits that they should have from these franchises and customs are taken from them in many respects, and many of the burgesses impoverished. They ask that their franchises and customs might be renewed by charter in specific terms, as in the charters of York and Lincoln, in the following terms.The form of charter that they want then follows.
