Alice, widow of William de la Legh, states that the King's father, at the request of Queen Isabella, gave her and her husband certain lands and tenements in Clopton in Suffolk, to hold at farm for term of her life, but that the late King then took them into his hand at the procurement of Hugh le Despenser, because of Hugh's ill-will towards Alice; so that they are still in the King's hand. She asks that they might be returned to her, together with the issues taken from them in the meantime.
Nature of endorsement
She is to show the deed mentioned by the petition in Chancery, and also for what reason the tenements afterwards came into the King's hand.
