Nature of request
Writ of Edward III to the Constable of Dover castle or his lieutenant, stating that Peter de Seint Johan has complained that some people of Winchelsea have robbed him of a ship and certain goods within it, and that certain people have been convicted of this, as is sufficiently well-known; but that despite the King's commands, no execution has been made on this, to the ruin of the merchant and to the great scandal and contempt of the King. He orders the Constable to make due and hasty execution of the process against these people, so that Peter can have restitution of his goods, or to appear before the King and council on the following Saturday to explain himself.
