Nature of request
William Cokerel states that after his exile and reconciliation, Hugh le Despenser the son had him attached, wilfully and without reason, and delivered him to the custody of John de Weston, then Constable of the Tower of London, until he had made an oath to live and die with him; and for greater security he made him make a recognisance in Chancery for £100. This money is now being demanded from him. He requests a remedy.
