Nature of request
Robert de Fencles makes three requests:1) He states that the late King granted him an annuity of 110 marks from the issues of the Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, which was confirmed by the present King. It has always been paid until the time of the present Sheriff, but the sum for Michaelmas term is in arrears, and the Sheriff will not pay him without warrant. He requests writs to the Sheriff to pay him his money according to his charter.2) He requests writs to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer for an allowance for 110 marks which are demanded of him for this annuity, and which John de Pabbenham, Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, paid, but which were later disallowed by procurement of Hugh le Despenser the son.3) He also requests a writ to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer for an allowance for what the Sheriffs of Buckinghamshire have paid and will pay of this annuity of 110 marks.

Probably formerly enclosed with no.86 of C 81/136, which is dated 12 February 1 Edward III (1327). John de Pabbenham was Sheriff of Buckinghamshire between April 1313 and November 1314. Also on 12 February 1327, the petitioner is granted protection for a year, as he is going overseas on the King's service (Check CPR 1327-30 p.10)CCR 1327-30 p.280 is dated 30 April 1328.
