Robert de Bures states that the King's father gave the manor of Bellister and vill of Plenmeller, in his hand as escheats through the forfeiture of Robert de Ros of Wark, to Robert de Bures to hold for term of life, with the reversion to the King and his heirs, but that Hugh de Louthre and his companions, justices of the Bishop of Durham, have deprived him of these lands by means of an assize of novel disseisin, held at the suit of Maud, widow of Brian Fitz Alan. He requests a remedy.
