Nature of request
John Downe states that for thirty years and more of service to the King's grandfather, he received only a corrody in Waverley Abbey, and he had to sue for a long time to recover this in the King's court. Now the Abbot and convent refuse to let him have what belongs to this corrody, and he requests a writ to them, ordering them to give him the corrody according to the judgment of the court.
