Nature of request
Writ of Henry VI to the Sheriff of Yorkshire and to Richard Hase, keeper of York castle gaol, or to either of them, stating that John, Cardinal Archbishop of York has informed him that one Thomas Brodelegh, accused of certain felonies, escaped from Wakefield prison and sought sanctuary in the parish church of Wakefield, but that he was forcibly removed from there and taken to York castle gaol. He orders them that, if this is so, they are to return Thomas to Wakefield church.
