Nature of request
Letter from William, Bishop of London, to Edward III, complaining that a Nicholas Sarney of the diocese of Worcester has been claiming to have a licence from the pope to hear confessions, although his documentation is clearly false, and is meddling in things which belong to William's cure and jurisdiction. He asks the King to write in the customary fashion, according to the customs of the realm and the canonical sanctions, so that Nicholas might be arrested and held.
