Letter to Edward III from John, Bishop of Carlisle, complaining that certain lay people have entered the church of Kirkland in Cumberland with force and arms, and have held it for three months and more, preventing him from exercising his spiritual office there. He asks the King to remove this lay force by a writ to the Sheriff of Cumberland.
