Letters patent from Edward II to John de Mutford, John de Whelnetham and John Claver in response to a petition from the Abbot of Bury St Edmunds asking that all his liberties in respect of being free from the interference of justices or other ministers of the King in Bury St Edmunds might be set down and granted to him specifically, asking them to hold an inquisition into whether the Abbot had held these liberties, and whether it would be to the harm of the King or anyone else, or would lessen the farm of the county to grant them to him.
