Nature of request
Partly illegible copy of a charter of Edward II, stating that he has granted to David de Strabolgy, Earl of Atholl, the manors of Aylsham, Cawston and Fakenham in Norfolk, in fulfilment of a promise to grant him lands and tenements to the value of the castle and manor of Chilham, to hold until the land of Scotland should return to subjection to him and the Earl should be able to possess his lands and tenements there, and further granting him the knights' fees and advowsons of churches belonging to these manors.
