[This petition is damaged and partly illegible.]David de Strabolgy states that the King has give him certain lands and tenements in Norfolk by charter, a transcript of which is attached to this petition, the Sheriff of Norfolk has taken back [the manors] into the King's hand. He asks that [his charter] might be examined and that justice might be done to him.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] He is to show the charter mentioned by this petition, and the first charter by which the manors were given etc. . . . the said manors were taken back, and when the said Earl's arguments have been heard, what reason demands is further to be done.[None on dorse]
