Nature of request
The executors of Richard Foun state that Richard was arrested because he was the Steward of the Earl of Lancaster, and imprisoned in Caverswall castle without judgment or conviction of trespass, and that he died there. After his death his goods and chattels were seized as those of an enemy of the King, although he never rose up against the King or adhered to his enemies, but died in his peace and his allegiance. The petitioners ask the King to order the deliverance of Richard's goods, so that they can make execution of his testament.

The writ issued as a result of this petition, SC 8/234/11675, is dated 12 July 16 Edward II (1322), and CCR 1318-23 p.589, clearly the final response to this petition, is dated 8 August 1322. It mentions that Richard died on St George's day (April 23).CCR 1318-23 p.594 is dated 1 September 1322.
