Nature of request
The Abbot and convent of Robertsbridge state that Edward II granted them permission by his charter to acquire £100 of land or rent in compensation for their losses to the sea along the coast of Sussex; and that they have acquired the advowsons of the churches of Salehurst, Udimore, and Mountfield. These churches are prebends of the King's chapel of Hastings, finding a vicar to serve there: something that is not mentioned in their charter.
