Nature of request
John de Kelleveden states that he has served the King loyally in the company of Oliver de Ingham, and that the King, when he was at Ongar, summoned his father, John de Kelleveden, and when he did not come, ordered that he be arrested, and his lands and tenements taken into the King's hand. John is now dead, and his lands and tenements still in the King's hand. John the son asks that he might have justice and reason in the matter of his inheritance, in consideration of his service.
Nature of endorsement
The Escheator is to be ordered to inquire into whether the tenements are in the King's hand for that reason or for another, and if for another, then for which, and from whom the tenements are held, and if he is his next heir. And the issue is further to be in Chancery, according to justice and reason.

CCR 1318-23 p.475 is dated 6 July 1322, and is clearly the final response to this petition, and the writ which is its immediate response, SC 8/234/11661, is dated 17 May, 15 Edward II (1322).
