Nature of request
A remedy is requested and that all the gifts, bonds and sales of all liveries made by the abbess after the abbey was taken into the king's hand be repealed. After an inquisition into whose hand the goods and chattels of Lewer had come, it was found that some of them had come into the hand of the abbess and the earl of Kent commanded that the abbey and its goods and chattels be taken into the king's hand. The earl of Winchester requested that the lands and chattels be given to the abbess by mainprise to answer to the king for the issues, but she has committed trespasses by making gifts and obligations and other things.

For petition dates to 1324 as a related command to the earl of Kent not to intermeddle any further in the abbey, which presumably postdates the petition, was made on 23 March 1324 (CCR 1323-7, p.89).
