The mayor and commonality request that the king ordain a remedy as Barton and his companions had taken a ship to the port of Fecamp and while they were buying victuals Fermentine entered the ship, killed one Richard left by Barton in the ship and broke the chests of the merchants and mariners and carried away the goods found therein, and when this was discovered and the hue and cry raised, Barton and his companions were taken and imprisoned, and their goods taken and these are still detained.
