Nature of request
The merchants request that they be granted the king's charter so that they are able to implead, demand and recover in the Exchequer debts due to the company with damages in the manner granted to the Bardi. They also request that if anyone be bound to any merchant of the company that then any other merchant of the company be able to recover the same in the absence of the merchant or after his death as any merchant can be held to answer for any debt of any merchant of the company.
