Nature of request
The Willoughbys request writs to the escheators of various counties to remove their hands from the dower lands of Joan de Willoughby, and to deliver the issues and profits in the meantime. By an agreement between Edward, Duke of York and the Willoughbys they were granted the manor of Wakefield and the castle and vill of Sandal with various lands in Yorkshire and elsewhere, and these have been seized into the king's hand by the escheators by the king's order.
