Nature of request
Paule requests that she is able to have livery of 2 tuns of wine which she receives annually, and that are in arrears for a year. Richard II purchased the remainder of the manor of Bingham from her and her husband for 700 marks, and for 2 tuns of wine annually to be taken from the hand of the king's butler in London. The grant was confirmed by the present king.
Nature of endorsement
[On face:]1) The king has granted this by the advice of his council.2) The earl of Somerset.[On dorse:]14 March 6 [Hen. IV], the council [named] agrees that the letters patent of the grant and confirmation be viewed in Chancery, and let a writ be sent to Chaucer to deliver it to her according to the effect of her charters, notwithstanding notwithstanding statutes or ordinances made to the contrary.
