Nature of request
The master, brothers, sisters and sick of the hospital request writs to Langton and the Shepherds to be before the council at Westminster at a certain day for Langton to show his evidence by which he claims common in the turbary of Heslington, and another writ to the sheriff to deliver the writs to them and to certify the day. Langton has disturbed the hospital in the enjoyment of its turbary which it was granted at its foundation by the king's progenitors, and the hospital is of to poor an estate and Langton of a great lineage and alliance for them to sustain a case.
