The commons request remedy that chapter 35 of the statute of Marlborough be upheld and that no free man be forced against his will to be on inquisitions or be distrained for not answering.They ask that collectors of taxes be commanded to take only the customary sum for acquittance to their sub-collectors in the vills.They ask that ordinaries, officials and deans only take the customary sums for testaments.They request that it be ordained what sheriffs should take for sureties because sheriffs take such large sureties for prisoners that it is to the great damage to the people.
