Nature of request
Ellesfeld requests justice be done to him concerning his inheritance at the present parliament. His father was granted the manor of Easthampstead in exchange for lands and tenements in Blunsdon and Cricklade by the king, and held them until he was wrongfully ousted by Trussel without process of law. Both Gilbert and his son Gilbert sued from parliament to parliament for justice but still they had no execution.

Note
The petition is dated to c. 1360-c. 1377 as the hand of the petition seems to be of about this date, and the petitioner is the grandson of Gilbert de Elsfield who made the initial exchange of manors in 1329 and his son was pursuing the disseisin in 1344 when an inquisition was held into the matter (CPR 1327-30, p.361; CIM 1307-49, no.1888).
