Nature of request
The prioress and nuns request that Norton be warned to be before the chancellor at a certain day to show or say as to why the king's letters made to him presenting him to the church of Everdon ought not to be repealed. The king presented Doun to the church and subsequently granted the advowson to the prioress and nuns, but afterwards presented Norton to the church, Doun having resigned it in exchange for St Martin's, Ludgate.

The petition must date to the period 22 September 1403 and 29 October 1404 as on the former Norton exchanged another living for the church of Everdon, and on the latter again exchanged Everdon for another living (CPR 1401-5, pp.261, 454).
